Golf Ball Butt

Many people might think this is mean. I don't. I find it entertaining :) Tonight we were changing into our jammies, and anyone with kids knows how hard it is to keep kids still long enough to get a diaper on or clothes on. I managed to get some lotion on this fast-moving child before he took off and as he was motoring by I was noting how "meaty" his seat was. And then I thought, I bet you could hold something between those cheeks. And THEN...I looked over and saw a plastic golf ball (that goes with the golf bag/club set that Ms. Jayna Wallace gave Ryder for his bday) and quick stuck it between his cheeks. Guess what? It stuck even when he crawled away! I managed to run and get my camera quickly so I could take a picture before he got stuck underneath the table :)

Finally, we got the jammies on...here's a picture of Ryder standing against the coffee table/ottoman. He's getting much better at standing holding on to things and (with only a steady hand behind him) pulling himself up onto things.

And here's a quick one of Joe from this past Memorial weekend with his crappies.

Finally: my looong stretch off!!

After being called in to work last night for a ridiculously inappropriate admit at 11:30pm (which is definitely NOT the phrase I was using last night to describe it...I think there were a few more 'choice' words used) AND working just shy of 90 hours over the last week and a half (did I mention that I am a PART-TIME employee??) I am so over my place of work!

Now, most of my coworkers/friends that know me know that I try to avoid work at all costs ;) In fact, I even had a couple coworkers (Banana, you were one of them if you're reading this...) puzzled as to why they have been seeing my face so much lately around the hospital. Like I said: avoid at all costs. Normally, this many hours would be tolerable......IF I had a job with normal hours. Or, it also wouldn't be so bad if I could actually sleep during the day. One of the days I slept five whole hours with only waking up once to pee. I was pumped because that's more than I usually get when I sleep during the day. (Did I mention that the five hours I slept was actually when I took a prescription sedative?? Oh, because it was). Anyways, I give mad props to those awesome coworkers of mine that work way more than I do. I don't know how you do it, but you guys rock. (and are probably annoyed that I'm complaining about this...bahhahahah)

Okay, now here's the part where I stop complaining and also where you will roll your eyes. As I close the chapter on my long stretch at work....now I get my long stretch off! I don't go back to work for 9 days. bahahah, I'm so ridiculous. Complain complain, that's what I'm good at. I know I'm lucky to have that time off, but you know...I've got to complain about something don't I??

Tomorrow afternoon we're heading up North for the weekend. I can't wait to eat.sleep.eat.tan maybe?sleep.eat.Here's a couple pictures of Ryder last year up at Joe's parent's cabin for memorial weekend. He looks a bit different now doesn't he?!

Ashley, this one is for you because I know you love my sweet shorts in this pic :)

I doubt it will be nice enough this weekend to wear something like this, but I'll take any sort of vacation I can get: rain or shine! Have a great weekend everyone!

I survived

This past weekend was my weekend to work. When I work my weekend, it's Fri, Sat, Sun 7pm to 730. And working these 12 hour shifts gives you little time to do anything else but work and sleep (or in my case, TRY to sleep...).

During the winter, Joe would head over to either his parent's house or Logan and Amy's house to give me some quiet during the day. But now that it's getting nice (sort of) that means that it's cabin season and Joe's parents head up North most every weekend (lucky duckies!!). So it was my first weekend of working where Joe and Ryder took off for the weekend as well. It was the longest I'd ever been away from Ryder. I know it's better for everyone involved: Joe and Ryder don't have to find something to do outside of the house all day/don't have to try to be quiet all day while I sleep, and I can lay in bed till 530pm if I really wanted to rather than feel like I have to get up and hang out/do dinner etc.

But if I am to look on the positive side, being at work and away from my boys really does make me appreciate all the days that I do have off and am able to stay home with Chubbs. I won't lie, there was a moment or two of me getting teary eyed, but I felt better when I'd look through all of my albums on Facebook to get my Ryder fix. I think I must have looked through those albums a hundred times this weekend! But how could you not miss these two??

This is totally random, but I always enjoy a good fat-face video :) It's Ryder after eating breakfast at the table when we were on vacation in Arizona. Not much is going on in it, but I thought I'd post it anyways...

Enjoy the weather today!!

Fun at the Haskins

If anyone wants to have some real fun, head on over to our house. Nothing like a diaperbox ride from Daddy!

A good weekend

We got a small taste of what spring should really be like on Friday and Saturday. It was nice enough out that we could sit outside and play or go to the park. I'm sure many of you can agree that it is soooo nice to be able to get out of the house for a change! Unfortunately we are back to being indoors today; it's miserable and rainy again :(

Here's a little picture of my big-headed friend with his hair blowing in the wind. It's almost like a model photoshoot....

And here is another one of Chubbs being his typical hambone self.

We were also very fortunate to have my awesome friend, Amanda, come over and watch Ryder Saturday night so Joe and I could go over to our friends, Ben and Emily's place for dinner. I feel so blessed that we have so many people in our life that love Boo Boos so much that they are willing to give up their Saturday night to come hang out with Ryder for awhile. We have neighbors who are from out of state that have no family here and no close friends here either and they NEVER get out together. So like I said, it makes me feel so blessed to have all the support we do. THANKS AMANDA!!

And of course, Mother's day was Sunday. I can't believe it was my second mother's day already. Crazy how time flies. We headed up to hang out at my parent's house in the afternoon to celebrate my mom, and then over to Joe's parent's house for dinner as well. It was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to my week off as well (before the dreaded "long" stretch of work starts on Friday...boo) Enjoy your week everyone!!

Nicknames

Joe and I realized that Ryder has a LOT of nicknames that we call him on a regular basis. In fact, I don't think I use the name Ryder all that often actually!! The reason why we started thinking of all the nicknames we have for him is because yesterday Joe's brother, Logan, decided that Ryder looked like a "Chip" for some reason....odd: yes. Funny: yes. Because he actually seriously did look like he was a chip yesterday (see below, doesn't he look like a chip?!?).

So, here is the list of all the different nicknames we call Ryder: Ryder-Boy, Boo Boos, The Bear Cub Baby or for short The BCB, Cubbie, Cub, Chubbs McGee, Fat Face, Bad Hair (no really, I will say something like, "Hey Bad Hair, whatcha doin??"), and now my new favorite just because it makes me laugh--->Chip :)

Anyways, enjoy the crummy weather day!

Finally some movement!

Well, a little movement I guess. This afternoon while we were at Grandpa and Grandpa Haskins' house Ryder decided that he was not just going to rock on all fours and then flop to the ground like he usually does. He was going to be brave and adventurous by moving three times/crawls/pushes/steps forward (I have no clue what you would call three "movements" forward when you crawl...it's not a step...maybe three knee movements forward?? whatever) Anyways, he kept doing it over and over but when he'd get to the third push going forward it was like he freaked out that he was actually moving and would push back to a sitting position. And then repeat. You could tell he was pretty shocked by it and eventually he got tired from all the hard work and stopped. BUT I think it will be very soon that I will have a crawler motoring around the house!! The days of plopping him in the middle of the room and going off to do something quickly are soon to be gone!! I'll try to post a little later this week about the FUN weekend we had...
